These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Price Checker mobile application ("Application"), provided by Marin Covic ("Service Provider", "we", "us"). Please read these Terms carefully before using the Application. By downloading, installing, or using the Application, you confirm that you are at least 16 years of age and agree to be bound by these Terms.
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Application in any way, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer, which are incorporated herein by reference. If you do not agree to any part of these Terms, you must not use the Application.
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be indicated by an updated effective date. Your continued use of the Application after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. Where changes materially affect your rights, we will provide notice within the Application where feasible.
Use of the Application
The Application is provided free of charge for personal, non-commercial use. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Application strictly in accordance with these Terms.
You agree that you will not use the Application for any purpose that is unlawful, harmful, or prohibited by these Terms. The Application is intended for the general public; no account registration is required to use its core features.
This licence does not include any resale or commercial use of the Application or its content; any collection and use of product listings or price data for commercial purposes; or any derivative use of the Application.
Acceptable Use & Prohibited Conduct
You agree to use the Application only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others. The following conduct is strictly prohibited:
Violation of these rules may result in immediate and permanent suspension of your access without notice. The Service Provider reserves the right to report unlawful conduct to the appropriate authorities.
Rate Limiting & Fair Use
To ensure fair and reliable access for all users, the Application's backend infrastructure operates under strict rate limits. These limits are enforced automatically and apply to all users equally.
Important: Excessive use of the Application's backend — including automated requests, scraping, or any behaviour that generates abnormally high request volumes — will result in a permanent IP ban without prior warning.

IP bans are applied at the infrastructure level and are not easily reversible. If you believe your IP has been banned in error, you may contact us at covic.marin1@gmail.com with a description of your usage. Ban reviews are carried out at the sole discretion of the Service Provider and are not guaranteed.
The Service Provider is not liable for any loss of access or service disruption resulting from rate limit enforcement applied in accordance with these Terms.
User-Generated Content
The Application may allow users to submit, contribute, or report content such as price corrections, product information, or feedback ("User Content").
By submitting User Content, you confirm that:
- You own or have the right to submit the content
- The content is accurate to the best of your knowledge
- The content does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights
- The content does not contain unlawful, harmful, or misleading material
By submitting User Content, you grant the Service Provider a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to use, reproduce, display, and distribute that content within the Application for the purpose of providing and improving the service.
We do not claim ownership of your User Content. You retain all intellectual property rights in anything you submit.
The Service Provider reserves the right to review, edit, or remove any User Content at its discretion, without notice, if it violates these Terms or is otherwise deemed inappropriate.
Price Reports
If you report a price, you agree that:
- You are physically at the store when you submit the report, and the price reflects what you actually saw on the shelf or at the till
- You allow the Application to use your device's location at the time of submission to verify this (see our Privacy Policy)
- Reports may be confirmed or disputed by other users, and reports that are inaccurate, unconfirmed, or in breach of these Terms may be removed
Reports that other users confirm earn points on a reporter score. Your score and a pseudonymous handle are shown on a public leaderboard. Points have no monetary value, may be adjusted or reset, and may be removed if they result from false reports or manipulation.
Purchases & Payments
The Application is currently available free of charge. If paid features, subscriptions, or in-app purchases are introduced in the future, the following terms will apply:
- All prices will be clearly displayed before any purchase is completed
- Payments will be processed through the applicable app store platform (Google Play or Apple App Store) under their respective billing terms
- Refunds will be subject to the refund policy of the relevant app store platform
- The Service Provider reserves the right to change pricing with reasonable advance notice
The Application does not currently process payments directly. Any in-app purchases are handled entirely by the app store platform, not by the Service Provider.
The Service Provider is not responsible for billing disputes that arise from transactions processed by third-party platforms. Please contact the relevant platform (Google Play or Apple) for payment-related queries.
Intellectual Property
The Application, including its design, code, features, graphics, and all associated content created by the Service Provider, is the intellectual property of Marin Covic and is protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or sublicense any part of the Application without prior written permission from the Service Provider.
Product names, brand logos, and trademarks displayed in the Application belong to their respective owners and are used for informational purposes only. Their appearance does not imply any endorsement or affiliation.
Termination & Suspension
The Service Provider reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate your access to the Application at any time, with or without notice, for any of the following reasons:
- Breach of any provision of these Terms
- Triggering automated rate limit enforcement (see Section 4)
- Conduct that is harmful, fraudulent, or unlawful
- Any behaviour that disrupts the Application or its infrastructure
- At the Service Provider's sole discretion, for any operational reason
Termination may be immediate and permanent. In cases of serious abuse — including deliberate overloading of the backend — the Service Provider reserves the right to pursue legal remedies in addition to access termination.
Upon termination, your right to use the Application ceases immediately. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, limitation of liability, and governing law) shall continue to apply.
You may discontinue use of the Application at any time by uninstalling it from your device.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Croatia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
If you are a consumer located in the European Union, you also benefit from any mandatory consumer protection provisions of the law in your country of residence.
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Application shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Zagreb, Croatia, unless applicable consumer law in your jurisdiction provides otherwise.
For EU users, the European Commission provides an Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform, available at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
